Take a look inside AMB Issue #163
Take a look inside our latest issue, with a feature interview with Jamie Nicoll, who to watch at World Championships, industry leading reviews and more!
Our latest issue, #163, is on the shelves, and if you haven't gone to pick one up yet here's a sneak peek at what's inside.
The big news is it's time to vote in the AMB Photo Competition. Even if you or a mate aren't finalists, by voting you're in with a chance to win a new pair of shoes thanks to Shmano! We're not spending $122 million to take a non-binding survey on who has the best photos, but your voting will pick the winner of the four categories: Speed, Style, Lifestyle and Adventure. And Shimano are rewarding the winners handsomely.
While we're on Tropical North Queensland, we sent our local correspondent William Bird out to the RRR, the iconic point-to-point race that starts on a farm and finishes at a pub. Of course it's grown in size and stature a little since a bunch of mates started it over 25 years ago. Find out more about this Aussie icon (The RRR, not Mr Bird) inside the feature!
We heard from mountain bike legend Hans Rey, as he set up a new trail connection in Livigno. With a visually guided ride around the lilft-assissted route, we're pretty tempted to head over to ride the Tutti Frutti Epic next year!
A little different and a slightly slower pace, we rode the Otago Central Rail Trail in late 2016 – it's pretty chileld out, and is essentially an offroad game of hopscotch between pubs and cafes. What's not to like?
If you have ever thought about setting yourself up to do more of your own maintenance on your bike – you have to read our feature in getting started. With tips from top mechanics at home and abroad, we also take a look at some of the basic, and premium, tools you should invest in.
We also test a bunch of cool stuff, including the Devinci Djanho, BikeYoke Revive dropper post, M2O anti-friction cream, and of course the Intense Carbine.
We think it's a pretty rad issue! It's also full of nutrition, training and riding advice, plus tips from Joe and Chris at Summit Cycles on how to get rid of that trashy gear feeling – it could be time for some spring cleaning on your bike after all.
