Out with a blown out bang! The Cannonball run was loose today with multiple days of no rain culminating in a very dusty course.
Out with a blown out bang! The Cannonball run was loose today with multiple days of no rain culminating in a very dusty course. Holes were numerous and prime for roost but that wasn’t all that was keeping racers on their toes with the rocky nature of the track certainly catching riders unaware. The big spills continued.
As the heat of the day sunk into the afternoon some of Australia’s fastest downhillers and one international star Luca Shaw took to the mountain and the race was on. Headed into the top twenty, Sam Hill came down with a blistering time that gave him the hotseat right up until the final two riders. Connor Fearon rode out of control to the hotseat and second before he was unseated by winner Troy Brosnan with an amazing seven second deficit.
This was the third Cannonball Festival for Thredbo and with numbers booming, it’s sure to return next year with double the fun.
