FIRST LOOK: Urge Archi-Enduro helmet
Pitched as a light weight full face helmet for the Enduro crowd, the Urge Archi-Enduro has a few novel design features.
Urge Bike Products are new on the Australian scene, but they have an innovative line of helmets, and this light weight full face helmet has just passed the very strict Australian standards.
The helmet is aimed at the expanding enduro market, and with MTBA’s decision to make a full face helmet mandatory for Enduro events, it’s likely that it will hit the mark. The claimed weight is 820g, but for the L/XL model my head needs it comes in at 980g.
On the helmet itself, the back is nice and short, so it doesn’t interfere with a backpack, and the venting on the front of the helmet is pretty thorough. The padding feels very secure, and the visor is adjustable – but not in a gloves on way, more of a set and forget way. The buckle is a pretty standard unit, but the front of the helmet is designed so it’s easy to get fluids in, thanks to a felxible section, and a port that will hold a hose.
We will have a full review of the helmet once we’ve got some trail time in it for a coming issue.
