The Focus SAM has been receiving accolades in international press, so we have been looking forward to getting on one. With the SAM 1.0 Trail Team arriving, we’ve been spoilt by the top end build from the German brand.
The whole bike has top shelf kit, finished brilliantly with Reynolds carbon wheels. Our resident tester, Adam Fernyhough has received the bike to test for Issue 147 and gathered his thoughts for us.
“The RockShox Monarch Plus DebonAir shock is a vast improvement over any previous Monarch shocks, it’s the best trail shock I have ridden to date, it will eb interesting to see how its long term use goes.”
“It’s a good pre-build for the shop guys, but the Reverb line requires trimming to fit. The internal cable/hoses work well.”
