Litelok Core Plus 75 Review
The Litelok Core Plus 75 offers impressive bike security in a wearable, durable design.
Litelok is a UK-based lock manufacturer known for harnessing innovative materials and technology to create highly secure yet lightweight bicycle and motorcycle locks. We tested the Litelok Core Plus in the 75 cm option, which offers a solid balance of security and portability. It’s also available in the Litelok Core Plus 100, which provides an additional 25 cm of length for those needing more versatility. At 1.9 kg, the Core Plus isn’t the lightest lock on the market, but it’s still much lighter than traditional steel locks, making it a great option for urban commuters and those needing reliable bike protection on the go.
Crafted from Boaflexicore+, a composite material that combines a plant-based polymer, a steel exoskeleton, and a high-tensile core, the Core Plus offers impressive resistance against cutting, sawing, and other common theft methods. This construction makes the lock one of the most secure options available while still keeping weight manageable.
One of the standout features is the FlexFrame mount that allows easy attachment to your bike, ensuring that it doesn’t take up valuable space in your bag or on your bike frame. However, for mountain bikers or those with smaller frames (such as dual suspension or compact hardtails), you may find that the lock’s size and mounting options can be restrictive. Thankfully, Litelok has considered this with their Wear Kit.

The Wear Kit is a clever addition that allows the Core Plus to be worn around your waist, like a belt. This kit is adjustable to multiple lengths, making it suitable for cyclists with waist sizes ranging from 70–106 cm for the 75 cm lock and 108–136 cm for the 100 cm lock. It’s easy to attach, with a simple Velcro loop that secures the lock in place. Though the Velcro tabs don’t offer a lot of security, the lock’s oval shape provides a reassuring fit and the tabs merely add a little extra support, ensuring the lock stays in place during rides.
Our Experience with the Litelok Core
As a mountain biker, I don’t often find myself needing a lock on the trails, but I do regularly use it for securing my bikes on a car rack or when locking up in town. At 1.9kg, the Core Plus isn’t something I’d take on long rides or bikepacking adventures due to its weight. However, it’s perfect for locking your bike during errands, pub rides, or travel. It’s especially handy for securing bikes on the car during trips.
The Wear Kit is a practical and comfortable addition, with no discomfort during our test runs to the local café. The lock itself is easy to use, and the key system is hassle-free, even in less-than-ideal conditions. The extra care of the covered keyhole and fully polymer-encased locking mechanism means this lock is built to last. Litelok includes three keys with the lock, which is a thoughtful touch for those who like to have spares.

The lock operates with a keyed locking mechanism made from aerospace-grade hardened steel encased in a polymer outer, which allows for easy and secure locking. A nice feature is that you can simply push the lock to secure it, without the need for the key. The keyhole is well-protected from grime and weather, ensuring smooth use without the risk of jamming due to dirt or rust.
Our Take on the Litelok Core
The Litelok Core Plus 75 is not the sexiest cycling accessory, but it’s one of the most important purchases you can make. It may not give you more watts or improve your bike’s performance, but it will protect your most valuable possession – your bike. Whether you’re commuting, locking up at the pub, or traveling, this lock ensures your bike stays safe. It’s a must-have for anyone who values security with ease of use.
