2026 Fox 34 SL Brings More Travel and Lightweight Performance
A new 130mm platform for technical cross country racing
The 2026 Fox 34 SL marks the next chapter in the storied legacy of the 34 Step-Cast (SC), taking the best qualities of its predecessor and pushing the boundaries even further. With the growing demand for 130mm travel among XC riders (according to Fox), Fox’s engineers have stepped up, delivering a fork that not only meets the need for more travel but also elevates the experience with enhanced stiffness, refined suppleness, and reduced weight.
Key features of the Fox 34 SL
Full 34 Chassis
The Fox 34 SL is a big step up from the Step-Cast design, utilizing a full 34 chassis with a larger-volume air spring. The result? A fork that offers adjustable travel from 110mm to 130mm without compromising on weight. That means you get the versatility to adapt to various terrains, giving you the perfect blend of responsiveness and durability.

More Travel, No Weight Penalty
XC riders have been asking for more travel, and Fox has listened. The Fox 34 SL now features 130mm of travel – without the dreaded weight penalty that usually accompanies increased suspension. Whether you’re blasting up climbs or tackling rough descents, this fork ensures you’ll maintain efficiency and speed while staying in full control.
Redesigned Arch and Crown
Torsional stiffness is key when it comes to precision handling, and Fox has improved it by 17% over the previous 34 SC. The newly designed arch increases tire clearance and reduces weight, thanks to a new 7000 series aluminum crown with enhanced internal machining and a sleek black anodised finish. The result is a fork that handles rough terrain with ease while remaining light and agile.

Increased Bushing Overlap
More overlap means better tracking. The Fox 34 SL boasts 20% more bushing overlap than the 34 SC, resulting in smoother performance and improved stability, especially when riding at higher speeds. This translates into enhanced control over unpredictable terrain, which XC riders know is key when pushing limits.
GRIP SL & GRIP X Dampers
The Fox 34 SL offers two damper options for different styles of riding. The GRIP SL damper, designed specifically for short-travel bikes, optimizes pedal efficiency and ensures a smooth ride. For riders pushing into more technical territory, the GRIP X damper is available on the 130mm model, offering improved trail capability while maintaining all the responsiveness you need.

Inboard Bypass Channels
With relocated bypass channels, Fox has improved small-bump sensitivity and reduced dynamic friction. What does this mean for you? A more responsive, fluid ride, especially when navigating over rocks, roots, or ruts.
Weight Optimization
At just 1475g (for the 29” 130mm GRIP SL model), the Fox 34 SL is 40g lighter than its closest competitor. This is no small feat considering it offers more travel and greater stiffness. For XC racers and riders who prioritize lightweight performance, the 34 SL offers a compelling advantage.
