Dean Lucas is soon to hit the track for the 2022 Downhill World Championships in Les Gets, France. His Scott Gambler has had a glow up for Worlds, and his mechanic Marshy went over some of the details with Matt Rousu.

The paint job is by Sandon from burruguu art.

The brakes have a combination of XTR and Saint components, which gets the feel Dean wants and the cooling performance. The hose is a max and match into the caliper.

There is a lead weight inside the bottom bracket to help keep the bike grounded, aiding with a lower centre of gravity.

The pivots have texta markings by Marshy to help him not over or under tighten all the bolts, but they'll also show if anything has loosened off.

On the back wheel there is a custom plate behind the cassette to keep the chain from going anywhere near the spokes. And yes that's the Saint 7-speed hack. The shifter has been modified to only shift one gear at a time.

Dean runs Chris Kovarik's STFU chain slap cancelling magic for a quieter ride.

There is a custom Marsh Guard number plate (which has been tested in a wind tunnel, no luck on the aerodynamics here), however the Marsh Guard above the wheel has been proven to reduce drag on Dean's bike along with tucked elbows!

The frame is where the detail is.
