Kids Ride Shotgun release new Shotgun Pro

Kids Ride Shotgun release an all-new Shotgun Pro Kids MTB Seat!

Australian Mountain Bike 11.08.2021

Kids Ride Shotgun are a brand dedicated to getting you out on the trails with your little ones. We’ve reviewed their Shotgun Kid’s MTB Seat and Shotgun Tow Rope and Hip Pack, and they’re both impressive products that make getting out with your kids easy and enjoyable.

Their latest release is the all-new Shotgun Pro, which is the result of two years of development. The seat is aimed at kids aged 2-5 years, and the big difference is the lack of frame contact. This makes the Shotgun Pro compatible with a much broader range of frame styles, including eMTBs with chunky downtubes, and people who don’t want to clamp something to their carbon top tube.

The Shotgun Pro instead attaches at the seatpost and steerer tube with enough adjustment to fit bikes of all sizes. The seat fits all mountain bikes with a standard 1 1/8 steerer. Two headset spacers are included with the product so the seat can be quickly mounted onto two bikes. The rear of the Shotgun Pro attaches to all the common seatpost sizes, and of course is dropper compatible. Here’s what they have to say about it.

The Shotgun Pro works with all 1 1/8 Steerers.

“When developing the shotgun pro, we wanted to avoid frame contact – which led us to a couple of obvious mounting points. We’re happy to admit that we’re not the first to mount a child seat between the stem and seat post, in fact, the first designs date back to 90’s – but what is unique about our pro seat is the clever range of adjustment. Common adjustments like leg and saddle angle are all tool-free, making them super quick trail side adjustments for parents.”

The Shotgun Pro features tool free adjustment.
