Adjustability out the wazoo!

The Pivot Firebird is the brand’s high-performance enduro bike. Designed to conquer aggressive descents, big mountain riding, and enduro racing, the Firebird features 165mm DW link suspension, geometry-adjust flip chip, a ‘suspension progressivity’ flip chip, and a Swinger dropout system, allowing for an 8mm variation in chainstay length. The new Firebird is available in 29” and mullet wheel options. Whether you’re charging through rough rock gardens, hitting big drops, or pedaling to the next stage in an enduro race, the Firebird is made for riders who want to push their limits on the most challenging trails.

Frame and Suspension

Pivot DW suspension design aligns the Firebird with other models in their lineup. This adjustment not only lowers the bike’s center of gravity but also increases standover clearance and allows for the accommodation of a full-sized water bottle within the front triangle, even in XS; a practical addition for riders. The new Firebird is available in five sizes, from XS–XL, though XS is available in a mullet wheel option only.

Geometry Adjustments

The new Firebird features a slacker head tube angle of approximately 64°, a steeper seat tube angle ranging from 76° to 77°, and an increased reach (e.g., 468mm for Medium and 488mm for Large sizes). Notably, Pivot has introduced size-specific chainstay lengths, varying from 431mm on Small frames to 445mm on XL, to ensure consistent handling across all sizes.

Adjustability and Compatibility

The inclusion of a two-position geometry flip chip allows riders to raise the bottom bracket and steepen the angles by 0.5°, facilitating compatibility with both full 29-inch and mixed-wheel (mullet) setups. Additionally, the frame is rated for use with up to an 180mm travel fork. A Fox Live Valve Neo Coil shock and dropper is available as an upgrade.

Storage and Practical Features

Pivot has incorporated their ‘Toolshed’ downtube storage system, providing space for essential tools or snacks. The frame also includes mounts for a second water bottle or tool keg underneath the downtube and additional bosses on the top tube compatible with Pivot’s Tool Dock System.

Aesthetic and Build Quality

The Firebird showcases straighter tube profiles and compact suspension links, resulting in a clean and refined appearance. Pivot offers the bike in vibrant color options, including a bright YOLO colourway, and a more subdued white gold and limited edition Purple Galaxy.
