Sram Release New S1000 Components & DB8 brakes

Sram has announced a few new components to their line up, that being 4 new Sram Eagle components and Sram DB8 Brakes. Today we take a look at their functionality and how they can improve your ride.
New Sram S1000 Eagle Components
SRAM drops MORE swag with expansion of Eagle Ecosystem and DB8 Brakes! It’s been a big mid-2024 for componentry manufacturer SRAM, who have continued to build out their transmission groups with the S-1000 Eagle Crankset, S-1000 Eagle E-MTB crankset and new derailleur and cassette!
The new S-1000 series is based on sturdiness and reliability, with the new cranksets available in
sizes 155, 160, 165, 170 and 175mm lengths: developments we love to see allowing a wider range of cranksets for differing riders. The E-MTB crankset features SRAM, Bose, Bosch and ISIS variants. Cranksets will initially be available only as OE product.

SRAM S1000 EAGLE CRANKSET (FC-S1000-C1)
The S-1000 Transmission crankset features a sleek, sturdy crankarm engineered for robustness and reliability. Like other cranks in the Transmission ecosystem, the S-1000 crank features 8-bolt ring compatibility as well as a stamped steel or aluminum ring with optional bash guards for durability and protection on the trail. Cross-compatibility with chainring options and bashguards allows for easy aftermarket customization.

SRAM S-1000 EAGLE E-MTB CRANKSET (FC-S1000-PA-C1)
The S-1000 Transmission E-MTB crank is a sleek, sturdy crankarm engineered for robustness and reliability. This unique design is forged from aluminum for robustness and dependability without compromising weight. SRAM, Brose, and Bosch motors pair with Sram’s “gap cap” for an aesthetically pleasing integrated look.

SRAM S-1000 EAGLE REAR DERAILLEUR (RD-S1000-A1)
The S-1000 Eagle Transmission derailleur is the entry point to the Eagle Transmission ecosystem. Utilising the same architecture as Sram’s GX Eagle Transmission derailleur, the Full Mount design mounts around the wheel axle itself with no hanger required, bringing strength and durability to UDH equipped bikes. Cassette Mapping, a marriage of the derailleur’s firmware with the hardware of our T-Type cassettes, helps deliver the best shift under load, even under the added power of an E-MTB. And like all Eagle Transmission derailleurs, it’s rebuildable, with replaceable skid plates and two-piece outer link, and a removeable cage assembly that simply rotates off. Featuring a sleek black on black appearance, this derailleur can be mixed and matched with all other T-Type ecosystem components. The S-1000 Eagle Transmission derailleur also features our new Drag Spring Cage Damper for reliable chain retention and long-term durability.

SRAM XS-1270 EAGLE CASSETTE (CS-XS-1270-A1)
Housing the same medal-winning technology as Sram’s other Transmission cassettes, our XS-1270 Eagle Transmission Cassette offers incredible performance for more riders. Finished in a unique nickel chrome, this cassette is quiet, durable and features a replaceable gear cluster. And for the first time on a traditional splined driver body, features a full 10-52t range thanks to the integration of the 10-tooth cog and lockring.

DB8 is Sram’s simple, robust, and powerful brake for riders who prefer to set and forget. The low maintenance Mineral Oil system uses proven lever technologies and features easy adjustment access and superior ergonomic comfort. The stealth lever body design brings the hose parallel to the bar, allowing for a sleeker, more modern ride. Code-like power is no surprise, as DB8 utilizes similar caliper architecture and existing brake pads.
