Fly Racing are a big global brand making parts for moto and other action sports. Mountain biking isn't left out, and you might have seen the likes of Eddie Masters and other Pivot Team riders getting around in the gear.

We've had a bunch of the Fly Racing gear out with riders and here's Jasper's take on some of the equipment.

Fly Racing Freestone Ripa helmet

Coming in three sizes and three colours, this open face helmet has 19 big vents and a moto style visor. There is some nice bug mesh at the front too to keep the bugs out of the gaping vents.

"This helmet not only looks fly but is extremely comfortable with the easy adjustment dial for your dome at the rear," said Jasper. "I didn't notice any movement and I move around a lot, the ventilation is exceptional and the additional and slightly larger than standard vents really helped keep the sweats to a minimum."

Movin' around.

The Fly Racing Freestone Ripa helmet sells for $159.95

Fly Racing XC Hydro Pack

You've seen one hydration system, you've seen them all, right? Fly Racing have 3 volulmes available for the XC Hydro Pack. Whether you choose the 1, 2 or 3L size you get a BPA and PVC HydraPak bladder, with a fast flow valve and a quick release tube for easy emptying and cleaning.

The pack itself can carry your helmet, and has sternum strap to keep it stable. The straps also use velcro and elastic closures to assist with stanbility on the bike.

"This pack is really comfy, I barely notice it's there," said Jasper. "It's ruggedly water resistant, and has reflective tape for low light rides. The helmet net for outside of bag I used a few times which came in handy."

"There is no waist strap which I found really annoying, and the pack does get quite hot with thicker fabric on the back mesh. There is also an odd setup for the hydration tube, it velcros in place but seems to want to sit in a weird place where your arm wants to knock it off.

"It is a big bag, but it feels like they could of made use of the storage space with a couple of extra pockets beyond the two main ones."

You can buy the Fly Racing XC Hydro Pack in 3 sizes, for $139.95

Fly Racing Action short sleeve jersey

The Fly Racing Action jersey is available in four colours, and has a light weight and fast drying material that should remain stink-free. The raglan cut sleeves sit comfortably and a printed label means nothing scratchy on your neck!

"This lightweight jersey is ultra comfy, and I like the simplicity of the colour and design," said Jasper.  "I sometimes get skin irritation from jerseys but this was not a factor at all in this shirt, the kind of jersey i would be comfy in both riding and for casual wear for a beer or 6!"

You can pick the Fly Racing Action jersey up for $79.95.

Fly Racing Maverick Shorts

These trail shorts are a good match to the Action jersey. and are available in size 28 through to 40 in three colours. We had black, but they come in grey and blue as well.

"They look nice and are an example of a simple design done well," stated Jasper. "These shorts come with the inners which is rad because they are obviously designed to be super comfy together and they are."

"The internal adjustable waistband was appreciated after lunch also. Great storage zip up side pockets, the shorts could be a tad longer over the knees but that's just personal preference!"

Fly Racing Radium long sleeve jersey

There's a lot to like about this jersey with an athletic cut and fitted, cuffless sleeves. It's no skin suit but it's not going to flap around crazily either. They come in four colours, and the hi-viz number here sure stands out!

"If you want a jersey that says 'I can ride well', then look no further than this Radium longsleeve jersey," said Jasper. "It's comfy, well-fitting and breathes really well for a long sleeve, looks fast and stylish so make sure you bring a little swag to the table when you table!"

Fly Racing Radium shorts

With six colours and six sizes the Fly Racing Radium short is an Enduro/All-Mountain short made with the same material as the Fly Racing motocross pants.

"These are the more heavy duty shorts from Fly and they definitely dealt with a bit more punishment when hitting the dirt," said Jasper after reviewing them. "They haven't showed any marks up after a few rides and washes. The adjustable waist tabs are easy to use and the inner leg ventilation holes worked well to keep the temps down during warmer climbs."

With spandex panels for some extra movement and a slightly longer cut, these are the shorts to look for if you're an aggressive rider.

A pair of the Fly Racing Radium shorts will set you back $139.95

Fly Racing Media gloves

"These gloves are snug comfy and grippy, what more could you want in a glove?"

There are four colours available and six sizes, they're a light glove that's meant to feel like riding without gloves.

"They're lightweight and not built super tough but good for warmer rides and touch screens," said Jasper. "It's a simple design but I'm a bit concerned that where you pull them on over time that the elastic which isn't very strong will start to give way and lead to a tear inevitably."

Fly Racing Shorty Socks

"Red and black and comfy, a little thin for my liking but socks are socks right?"
