TESTED: Specialized Gravity Jersey

Specialized released new gravity clothing earlier this year, adding higher protection to their trail gear, without too much impact on weight, feel and comfort.

The new Gravity Jersey from Specialized is a no fuss function bit of kit, offering a crew neck collar to keeps things casual and comfortable, and clear from helmet straps or a neck protector. They come in sizes S-XXXL and have a unisex fit. I had a medium for the test and the fit is as expected for a medium jersey.

Coming in 3 colours there will be no problems matching this with any other parts of your DH setup, this jersey offers room for body armour while still not being too loose if you chose not to use any and rock it as a long sleeve trail jersey. On sleeves, they are really long, for full coverage even when swinging off the back – the attention to detail for how the jersey will be used is a nice touch.

The jersey is 100% polyester with a stretch fit, helping it be reasonably fitted with zero restriction on the bike. It breaths well thanks to the ventilation on a shoulder panel, and the whole jersey material itself. That’s a win for big days doing laps in the park, or pulling this long sleeve jersey on for pedal ups or push runs in our climate. Despite the colour, stains are easy to get out even on the Dove grey we jersey we had. But you could get black or imperial red if that’s what you’d prefer!
