The Trek Remedy Di2 super bike - unveiled

Like we said, there could only be one winner... the Shimano Video Competition asked you to show us your mountain bike life, and the prize? A new bike and a trip of a lifetime.

Earlier this year we ran The Shimano Video Competition: My MTB Life. Riders rode, shot, edited and submitted videos that best captured their mountian bike life. What the sport meant to them, and what it gave them. You can watch all the entries on our Vimeo channel.

In the end, it was an entry from James Klousia in Tasmania that won. HIs story rang through, and it was clear that mountain biking was involved with so much of his life. From trail maintenance days, to riding with mates, racing, celebrating – he really did have a mountain bike life.

A couple of weeks ago we passed by Trek HQ outside Canberra, where the amazing prize was being built up. James has won a brand new Trek Remedy, with Fox Factory equipment, Bontrager parts and a flash new XT/XTR Di2 group set.

And earlier this week, the finished product arrived in Tasmania. James is stoked.

"Winning the competition was like a dream, but it became a reality yesterday when I picked up the bike! It’s a beast! The Trek straight shot downtube is a thing of beauty, and the boost hubs make the wheels super stiff. The Fox 36s are seriously solid – they feel like they’ll be able to handle anything I can throw at them. But the crown jewel of the bike is the amazing XT Di2. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to go back to mechanical shifting again."

And now the part of the prize that is really awesome… Shimano Australia ar sending James to Italy for the final round of the EWS in Finale Ligure. There's a small crew heading over from Australia, and James will be riding and hanging out with Chris Panozzo, and we are sure that they will navigate their way to find the finest espresso on the Italian Riviera.

We'll be keeping track of the trip via social media, and we'll hear from James in Issue 158.
