With the sun coming out from behind the rain filled clouds that have plagued Thredbo over the last few days, day one of events and festivities here at the Thredbo Cannonball Festival are off to a bang!

The acton started with the Maxxis All Mountain Assault. This event takes place on Thredbo’s All Mountain trail that puts riders though their paces over 13 plus minutes of fast flowing trails ranging from wide open turns to fast tight singletrack… the All Mountain trail has something for everyone.

With the sun shining and the trails drying out and providing riders with a fast course mixed with excellent traction it was Ben Forbes taking the win over Josh Carlson in second in 3rd place was Scott Graham just over 7 seconds back.

In the elite women it was Sian Ahern who took the top step today over Claire Whiteman and Tegan Molloy. With day one wrapped up Ben Forbes and Sian Ahern are off to a good start for the title of the King and Queen of Cannonball 2017.

Blue skies are a nice change after last weekend down south!
