Brosnan triumphs in epic Cannonball finale!
An epic downhill showdown for the grand finale of the 2017 Cannonball Festival
After another brilliant day here in Thredbo! The 'Cannonball' Downhill course has been in prime condition, with all riders talking about how fast it has become even with the large amount of holes and ruts starting to form. By the time we saw the pro women’s and pro men’s classes take the start gate the course running even faster!! As almost all of the moisture was gone from the dirt after last few days of sunshine.
As always the pro men’s finals was going to be a banger and with the addition of Team Commencal Lac Blanc Rider Amaury Pierron the finals podium was a true World Cup affair. After a long day in the sun we saw Troy Brosnan keep up his winning form in Thredbo taking the number one spot over Connor Fearon with Amaury Pierron completing the podium.
For the Pro Women it was Thredbo local Tegan Malloy that took the top spot over Danielle Beecroft and Sian Ahern. The Pro women’s events have been an exciting battle all week with all three of today’s women’s podium getters taking the top spot in an event throughout the week!
That’s it for us here in Thredbo and an big thanks to all of the 770 riders who came along and made this years Cannonball the biggest one yet!!!!!!
