Under the dying light of the final day of Cannonball Festival, the Whip Wars was battled out amongst the steeze lords of mountain biking. The competition is a ‘jam fest’ format, meaning riders hit the jump at their own leisure, as many times as desired. The jump is located at the end of the Cannonball Downhill track, and is bunted-off throughout the event to maintain optimal conditions.

While the competition is judged according to a rider’s technical “whip” ability, it’s also a stage for riders to show off various tricks. Without attempting to describe the sheer talent on display, immerse yourself in the gallery above and enjoy the show!

Timmy Eaton came away with the coveted Whip War trophy, proving once again why he was our Issue #173 cover boy.
