After the Team Relay, the Junior XCO World Championships are the next main race at the UCI World Championships. And while the 'kids' go flat out for about an hour on the course, spectators get a glimpse of what the future holds.

For a lot of the riders, especially those from Australia, this will be the biggest field they have raced in. With the travel programme run by MTBA there are more opportunities to raceon the world stage ahead of the World Championships but make no mistake, the World Champs are always another level above anything else!

In the Junior women, Australian Zoe Cuthbert impressed with a storming ride to 5th, as Swiss rider Jacqueline Schneebeli took the title.

In the men's, Charlie Aldridge won and Piper Albrecht was the top Australian in 40th, banking a whole lot of experience along with the rest of the Aussie Team.
