Crankworx Rotorua - Mon Royale Speed and Style
Speed and Style.
Speed and Style. The mutated child of freeride and dual slalom. The basis, two riders line up in the start gate to race the other to the bottom of the course, over jumps, berms and other features, however there is a catch. Riders can lose time for style, a second for example, the more advanced the trick the more time lost. Racers still need to stay close to each other though as all out speed and scrubs can still earn a win. Making this event perfect for the ultimate tee up of freeriders and racers.
The action was thick and fast from the outset with Martin Soderstrom and Bernard Kerr each looking like they were miles ahead of the competition. It was no surprise when they both edged their way into the finals where Soderstroms natural flair and speed took him to the win.
