FIRST LOOK: Liteville 301
The Liteville 301 is a versatile all-mountain bike, precision engineered in Germany for big back country rides.
The Liteville 301 came into the office intricately packed by importer EightyOneSpices. This should be no surprise. As a boutique importer, EightyOneSpices specialise in brands that pride themselves on their precision engineering and quality. The Liteville 301 is a German designed masterpiece, one of the few super high end full aluminium frames on the market. Why use carbon when you can manufacture an alloy frame that is so stiff, light and reliable?
Take a close look at the awe inspiring videos and photo shoots that come from big all-mountain rides in the alps and other foreign destinations. You’ll notice that quite often, the riders are on Liteville bikes. If not the versatile 301, the bigger brother 601.
It’s adorned with a SRAM 1×11 drivetrain and the best bits from the EightyOneSpices catalogue, like a Formula suspension fork and brakes, plus Syntace finishing kit.
What’s really interesting is that through the size range it’s not just the front triangle that changes, but also the swing arm size, and even the wheel sizes. Our medium tester comes with a 27.5″ front wheel and 26″ rear, but the largest sizes up those wheel sizes again. Liteville want to make the bike work for the rider, not the rider work too much on the bike.
We’ve handed the bike to Lachlan McKillop for testing, make sure you grab Issue 148 to read his review.
