FIRST LOOK: Niner SIR 9 singlespeed
Saving up for a carbon uber bike? What about something steel, with one gear?
We’ve had some lovely bikes come through the doors of AMB recently, but the slender lines of the Niner Bikes SIR (Steel is Real) 9 makes it something to behold. This one has a bespoke build from Summit Cycles, and it fits right into our bike test theme for our next issue.
What’s immediately obvious when looking over the Niner is that just because a bike is steel, it’s by no means retro. The post mount brake mounts, and neat 142/12 axle, along with precision finishing show what a piece of art this is. The build kit wants for nothing, but that’s not strictly what this bike is all about.
