Whyte are a well-known British bike maker that pride themselves on innovative design, and frames that last for years, not a season. We’ve had a number of Whyte bikes through our testing, and the M-109C, the G-150 and T-129 have all been stand outs. Whyte’s suspension is balanced, running on sealed bearings for longevity, and their pivot location and frame design prioritises long frames with short back ends – perfect for stable bikes which can corner hard and fast.

We rode and tested the Whyte T-130 Works when it was first released, and knew it was the perfect addition to the Whyte range. But the 27.5″ trail bike needed some refinement, and that is exactly what it’s had with the carbon model, the T-130C RS, that we were sent for testing.

Much still remains the same, like the Single Chain Ring specific rear end, and the 130mm of travel. But the frame is much longer, the fork and swing arm are Boost spacing with associated stiffer wheels, and the head angle has been slackened off a little.

The result? It’s pretty much everything we hoped it would be, and it is one of the best cornering trail bikes I have ever ridden. Don’t miss the full review in Issue 154, out on 2nd June.
