FIRST LOOK: YT Jeffsy Pro Race 27

We loved the YT Jeffsy 29 that we got our hands on last year - but not everyone is into big wheels. So let's see what the 27" model brings to the table.

The Jeffsy is YT's first foray into trail bikes, and many YT owners would suggest they nailed it. The Jeffsy mixes a low standover height, long top tube, low BB and short back end, all with a pretty low overall weight on this CF Pro Race model we've got our hands on right now.

We tested the original 29er model last year, loving how planted it was, but also how happy it was to go skyward. You can read the review here.

The parts spec is primo, with carbon wheels, a RaceFace Next SL carbon crnak, and Fox factory suspension. But with a Float 34 up front and a weight of about 12.4kg, it's obvious that this bike is intended to go up, as well as down with its 160mm travel out back.

We have passed the bike to our tester Adam Macbeth, who is really happy with how it descends, thansk to how low the bike is. It is super planted and stable. But with the lighter build, he was pretty quick to point out that it's "not a sender's 160mm bike."

And while the bike has been bombing, it's not yet climbing as well as YT would claim, but there's a little bit more suspension setup required. High end bikes need to be tuned to get the most out of them for your individual riding, so check back in Issue #162 to see how we got on.
