Giant and Liv have debuted new performance trail helmets for Australia.

After the success of the Giant Rev road helmet, Giant have introduced a complete helmet line up for time trials, road, triathlon – and of course mountain biking.

While some elite endurance mountain bikers might look to the Rivet for a slight aero advantage, it’s more likely that they would opt for the 235g, well vented and road oriented Rev.

All new in the lineup is the trail and enduro focused Rail. With its trail-specific design and technologies, including massive ventilation and extended rear coverage, the Rail is perfect for the rider who might not be chasing an XC podium, but is doing everything else. With 18 vents, designed with straight, non-tapered walls, airflow is optimized whether you’re bombing down the trail or grinding up steep climbs. The Rail also boasts a number of trail-riding features including a camera mount, integrated goggle strap and adjustable visor. It’s just 240g which is very light for a trail helmet.

Pricing and stock should be available sometime in July, but drop in to your local Giant dealer to keep up to date.

Liv debut women’s performance helmets

Liv have also released performance helmets, and the Rev Liv and Infinita will be the most appealing for mountain bikers. The Rev Liv follows the lines of the Giant Rev helmet, being a sleak, well-vented vis0r-less helmet at 235g. This sounds perfect for performance oriented cross-country and marathon racing.

The Infinita is built for the trail riding crew, with 18 vents and all the same design features as the Rail by Giant, but with women’s specific sizing. The deeper coverage, big vents and visor should make it super popular on the trails.
