My MTB Life: building the Trek Remedy

Throughout winter we ran one of the most epic competitions in mountain biking - giving a rider the chance to get a new Trek Remedy with Shimano Di2, plus a ticket to Europe for the EWS final in Finale Ligure.

The Shimano Video Competition was epic. Riders from around Australia hit their trails with mates to shoot, edit and submit a video that captured their mountain bike life.

The variety of entries was great, and while we looked to see who was sharing videos well, and what was popular, amongst the judges we wanted to see who could tell a story, and who had editted the video themselves.

Part of the prize is making a video with Chris Panozzo, at the final round of the Enduro World Series in Finale Ligure. And while James Klousia had high views, it was the narrative and self shot/edited basis that combined to make the best video.

But that Trek Remedy…

So the bike, along with the flight and experience, is pretty amazing. Trek lined up the latest Remedy, with Bontrager Line wheels, Bontrager bars, stem, saddle and tyres.

Shimano provided the XT Di2 group set (with some XTR Di2 upgrades as not everything is available yet) and of course the flight and accommodation for James.

The 26 Factory is the go-to enduro fork.

Fox have provided a 36 Factory fork and a Factory Transfer dropper post – the X2 shock is on the way.

Fox have returned to the dropper market – in a big way.

The XT Di2 drivetrain will provide faultless shifting.

The Remedy needs to have some final touches – like wires and a chain, and then being set up. But it's shaping up to be one of the most capable bikes on the trails.
