The Rocky Trail crew is off to Thredbo this week for our Gravity Weekend with more than 20 new State Champions being awarded by this Sunday. The Rollercoaster Gravity Enduro NSW State Championships will be held on the Saturday and the RedAss Downhill ACT/NSW State Championships on the Sunday.

More than 300 competitors are expected to literally descend into the Thredbo Village, from all over NSW and ACT and interstate and via the two iconic downhill and flow trails. The reigning Elite State Downhill Champions Andrew Crimmins and Tegan Molloy will be competing at the UCI World Cup in South Africa this weekend and will be absent from the competition. In the Rollercoaster Gravity Enduro State Championship event, Thomas Crimmins from Bredbo and Sarah Booth from Newcastle will be at the start to defend their titles.

“The Thredbo trails are in great shape and we expect a brilliant autumn racing weekend”, said Event Director Martin Wisata from Rocky Trail and added that online race registration would still be open until this Thursday evening, 10th April via the Rocky Trail website at www.rockytrailentertainment.com

He also pointed out that participants who wish to compete in both events are asked to register via the downhill web portal and to add the discounted gravity enduro entry before checking out.

Event participants will be able to practice both downhill and gravity enduro courses on Friday and Thredbo offers discounted “Special Event” lift tickets through the sports shop on-site. Downhill racers will be provided with uninterrupted practice all day on Saturday. Official Rollercoaster race runs will start at 1pm on Saturday and the RedAss competition will get under way on Sunday at 11.30am.
