Southern MTB Festival expands for 2016
The Southern MTB is an emerging Mountain Bike Festival that will take place from the 23rd – 25th September in Albany, WA.
The Southern MTB is an emerging Mountain Bike Festival that will take place from the 23rd – 25th September in Albany, WA. This exciting new event has grown from the popular Albany Urban Downhill race that was organised by the Albany Mountain Bike Club in 2014. In the 2 years of its organisation it has attracted over 5,000 entrants and spectators and is the only Urban downhill in the whole of Australia! This years event will not only include the original Urban Downhill and Jump Comp but will also include a new 50km and 30km cross country race called the Southern Peaks. In addition, throughout the weekend there will be other family friendly events and entertainment taking place in the new Festival Village.
Urban Downhill
Created in 2014 this urban downhill race is the only Urban downhill in the whole of Australia!
Jump Comp
The Jump Comp is a trick competition located in the town centre. This will be open for experienced riders to enter and will provide an exciting performance for spectators on the Saturday evening.
Southern Peaks
New for 2016, the Southern Peaks is a 50km & 30km mass cross country race, setting off from near Maitraya with the finish line at Oranje Tractor Winery.
