Toowoomba is the home of mountain bike legend Jared Graves, one of the sports stars who has managed to reinvent himself countless times. Graves missed the top step of the podium at the Oceania Championships on Friday 27th February. His team mate Richie Rude won the race and the title was awarded to Connor Fearon as Graves was 3rd. With 2min40sec of racing, deciding the races, gaps were always going to be tight.

On Sunday racers hit the trail again, somewhat cleaner than with the mud that had been around early in practice on Friday. This time, Graves was the fastest man on the hill, going sub-2min40 and winning the race. But it was Graeme Mudd who snared the overall Subaru MTBA National Series title.
