The Giant Trance X alloy rolls 27.5 in 2022
The Giant Trance X rolls into 2022 with a fresh look.
Giant have just unveiled the latest addition to the Trance range of trail bikes, the new Trance X. This rig delivers a responsive ride with 27.5-inch wheels, so it is designed to excel on technical trails for the riders who prefer the handling of a 27.5" wheel compare to 29".
The Trance X sports an ALUXX SL aluminium frame—a lightweight, strong chassis that’s designed for ripping trails. Made with 6061 alloy the frameset features a proven Maestro rear suspension system with 145mm of rear wheel travel matched with a 160mm fork up front. An Advanced Forged Composite upper rocker arm reduces overall frame weight while boosting stiffness.
The Trance X also has an adjustable frame geometry feature. A flip chip on the rocker arm of the Maestro suspension system lets you pick a steeper or slacker head and seat tube angle depending, so you can match the handling to your terrain. You can change the head angle from 63.8 to 64.5 degrees (size medium). The seat tube angleadjusts from76.3 to 77.0 degrees (size medium).
Switching the geometry also changes the bottom bracket drop from 20mm in the high setting to 30mm in the low setting. The low setting is slacker and suits fast terrain where stability is king. The high setting is a little steeper, and ideal for tight, technical trails. The Trance X has short chainstays (430mm rear/center measurement) for a compact rear end for greater responsiveness. There's clearance for 2.6" tyres, and each bike comes with a Giant Tubeless wheel system.
In Australia we will have Trance X 1 in Black selling for $6,199 & the Trance X 3 in Good Grey selling for $4,199. Get all the details from your local Giant dealer.
